FAQ

What type of quality certifications does obp have?

obp is an ISO 13485 certified company with a robust quality management system committed to continuous improvement.

Are obp products approved for sale in the United States?

Yes, all obp products have received necessary premarket approvals from the FDA.

Are obp products proven in the marketplace?

Our innovative products have been used in surgery centers and hospitals throughout the United States, as well as healthcare facilities worldwide.

Are obp products reusable?

No, all obp products are for single-use only.

Why should I switch to a single-use product?

Single-use devices save time, increase efficiency, and reduce risk of cross-contamination. In addition to the direct impact on patients, when recovery is delayed due to a hospital-acquired infection (HAI), the facility is also saddled with longer patient stays and additional treatments. Often, the cost of this additional care is non-reimbursable. Single-use devices help prevent these added costs. Further, single-use devices are often a more cost-effective choice in the long term because they eliminate the time, equipment and resources inherent with ongoing training, cleaning and reprocessing of reusable devices. For more information about our single-use products, please visit our product pages.

What happens if I reuse a single-use product?

All obp products are marketed, labeled and indicated for single-use only. Our single-use devices are not designed to be reprocessed and reuse of a single-use device can, therefore, create a serious risk of cross-contamination between patients. The strength of the device may be significantly compromised and the resulting risk to the patient and/or user is unknown. The lights incorporated in our devices are only powered for a single use.

Does my obp product require any additional parts or components to achieve illumination?

No, all obp devices come complete with a fully integrated light source and power source.

What type of light source is used in obp products?

obp products utilize a light-emitting diode (LED) light source. Our single-use lights are among the brightest on the market, allowing for optimal visualization during procedures.

What type of batteries are in obp light sources?

ONETRAC devices are powered by alkaline button batteries. ONETRAC LX, ONETRAC LXD and ONETRAC LXS are powered by non-rechargeable lithium primary manganese dioxide batteries. Click here to learn more about our batteries.

Do I need to dispose of the batteries separately?

Consult your local hazardous waste regulations. ONETRAC may have the batteries removed before disposal via a battery cover at the base of the handle. ONETRAC LX, ONETRAC LXD and ONETRAC LXS must have the batteries removed before disposal.  We recommend you check with your facility’s battery disposal policy prior to use.
